I did not see the ending coming. I found it all very sad. But I still enjoyed the book and am looking forward to the next one in the series.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Perfect read for the holidays. Now I have to go back and read the rest of the Pink Carnation series!

I had a hard time getting into this. It was a heavier read than I was expecting. But the characters really grew on me...particularly Major Pettigrew and Mrs. Ali. I recommend it but just know that it has a slightly darker tone than the book jacket may suggest.

Great start to this series. Can't wait to read book #2!
