Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
5.0
I really enjoyed Project Hail Mary. I listened to the audiobook, and Ray Porter's performance was fantastic. If you liked The Martian or any of the Bobiverse series, you'll definitely enjoy this. This novel was smart, entertaining, and very heartwarming. It might even turn out to be my favorite sci-fi book this year.
The Joy of Less, A Minimalist Living Guide: How to Declutter, Organize, and Simplify Your Life by Francine Jay

I think this is a pretty good primer on minimalism. There wasn't much groundbreaking information, but it was helpful. I liked the last couple of chapters about being a "minsumer" (minimalist consumer) and taking into consideration the full lifecycle of the things we consume. For all of her talk about minimizing our impact on the environment, I would have liked to hear her acknowledge that living as "lightly, gracefully, and beautifully as possible" involves also minimizing the suffering we inflict on non-humans and embracing a vegan lifestyle.

Goodbye, Things: The New Japanese Minimalism by Fumio Sasaki

I really enjoyed this book. My partner and I listened to the audiobook together. We've always complained about having too much stuff but for whatever reason couldn't bring ourselves to get rid of things. Listening to this book was very empowering, and we're already taking steps to be more minimalist.
