“I suppose if you were ever involved in anything like this, you’d know exactly how to get away with it.”

WOW. I don’t know what else to say, but I’ll try to think of something.

This was such a unique mystery.
It answers that one question I’ve had about every genius crime-solving main character of a mystery: Would they get away with murder?
It was so fun to watch the author really run with and explore this concept. It was so thrilling and basically took over my mind the entire time I was reading it. I was constantly on edge and high on adrenaline, even when I didn’t have the book in my hands, wondering what’s going to come next and both eager and terrified to find out. I am still cloaked in anxiety; I can tell it’s going to take a while for me to come down from this. I am so obsessed with this series, and, though this was a more than satisfactory conclusion, I am so sad that it’s over. I’m really going to miss Team Ravi and Pip, not to mention the flawless craft of each one of these mysteries. Not a single installment disappointed, though I think this one has to be my favorite. These books are thrilling and captivating, and I really hope to read more from this author in this genre. SHE. IS. SO. GOOD.

I didn’t really agree with Pip going back and killing Jason because there, actually, from my perspective, was plenty of evidence against him to convict him for being the DT Killer. Although, it’s possible he could have run after seeing she escaped, knowing she would go back and report him. Then, he might start killing again and more girls will end up dead. So, I guess maybe I do get it. I guess I just don’t ever agree with killing someone and taking away their choice to change and be better. The whole thing made me feel kind of uncomfortable. Although, it was absolutely enthralling, experiencing a mystery thriller from the opposite perspective. So cool! And I was captivated every second. It was a five star read, through and through. Definitely recommend reading! It was amazing!! Just don’t recommend following in Pip’s footsteps…

This made me love Taylor even more than I already did!! I always knew she was wise and mature, but there were so many quotes in here that proved she was on another level than I ever realized. I am a huge fan and am so glad this book exists so that others can get informed about who Taylor really is and believes, rather than what the media would have them think. This is meticulously curated and organized. The editor clearly cared, which is so important. I loved this so much that I practically read it in one sitting! Definitely recommend to fans and haters alike!

RE READ: Brought it down to 4 stars just because the plot in the middle is really repetitive and quite slow and the romance was far too sudden for my tastes. Nevertheless, still really really like this one and agree with everything I said down below. Can’t wait to pick up the sequel ASAP!

FIRST READ: Marissa Meyer has done it again!! I absolutely adore the way she writes characters in all her books. All her characters are so unique and have such heart and personality; they leap off the pages and make themselves at home in my heart. I also love the way she retells fairy tales. She turns them into something completely new in such a way that makes you almost forget that it’s a retelling. This Rumplestiltskin retelling was no exception! I thought there were a lot of cool twists and turns in Gilded, and it’s a lot darker than anything I’ve read of hers yet. Loved that! Her writing is at its best that I’ve seen it; utterly captivating!! The concept is really cool! I love Serilda’s storytelling power; I have never read about an ability like that, and her stories were all so beautifully told! I also enjoyed how those stories tied in with the book’s narrative. The world is not super developed, but that didn’t turn out to be a problem for this particular story. The whole book reads like a fairy tale and feels like a nice cuddly blanket. I am dying at the thought of waiting for the sequel!! Ugh!!

I am obsessed!! I wasn’t really into it at first, and it definitely was way too slow or monotonous at times. It wasn’t a perfect book, or even close to it. But there were some really great moments: entertaining, touching, and everything in between. Not to mention, that last quarter absolutely wrecked me and then reconstructed me into something new. Much like Nora, I’m not who I was when I started. I have discovered a newfound love for life.  Does that make this a five star book by default? I’m not sure. But I will say this: Reading this won’t be in my Book of Regrets.
