The concept was super intriguing but I wasn’t able to connect to the main character enough to want to continue on.

I was hoping that the second would be as good as the first book but I was disappointed by the sequel. I probably won’t be finishing the series because of how downhill it went.

The concept is extremely interesting but the story started to drag on and became a chore to read. I will most likely check it out from the library again but I didn’t have the urge to check it out and finishing the story.

I started this book in 2021 and got halfway through it but had to stop. So I figured it was just going to be a DNF for me - there’s nothing wrong with it but at the time it wasn’t grabbing my attention. I just wasn’t in the brain space to read this book until now. I devoured this book on my flight and I want the sequel right now. The character development and love story was so refreshing and heartwarming.

I was so excited to read this book because of the author’s advertising on tiktok but it didn’t match up to what I wanted. I read the book via kindle unlimited and I’m really glad I didn’t buy a hard copy of the book - even though the cover is absolutely gorgeous. There wasn’t a ton of character development, the advertised spice wasn’t there, and there were so many missed opportunities with the plot. The writing isn’t horrible but I was just expecting way more than what I got so I’m a bit bummed.
