I normally love Tana French's books but I just couldnt make myself care about these characters or this plot enough to continue. May come back and try again when Im in a different mood

I loved the core premise of this book - a bisexual guy (who people assume os gay) and a tough hockey loving gap fall in love. Adorable!! Loved the way it flipped gendered expectations! The reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because I felt some of the plot points couldve usesld further expansion, particularly with regards to Alixs future in hockey.

This was very cute, and I enjoyed it for a romance novella. (Romance novellas almost always leave me wanting more) Its definitely convinced me to try some of this authors full novels.

I really enjoyed this fun, rompy read. I cant remember the last time a book marketted as a romcom actually made me laugh out loud so much. I loved the distinct (and often hilarious) perspective of the narrating character. Similar to how I feel about most single POV romances, I do wish I knew a bit more about what was going on with the non-POV character, but otherwise, loved.

The mystery was really fun and intriguing (if over the top), but the b-plot romantic conflict really didnt make sense for the characters, in my opinion. It made Aslan seem childish and Quaid's character inconsistent. I think the author has set up an interesting character arc for Aslan heading into the next book.
