2/5 stars. Sometimes books should be edited before they are published. From repeating paragraphs to info being revealed more than once, this is a book that would have benefitted from a strong editor.
One of the things I love about the RI Teen Book Awards is that they make me wrap my head around things I might not have considered. I was happy to see the author explore the intersection of race and LGBTQ+ issues in our criminal justice system. However, there was a lot of implicit bias in the way the narratives were portrayed. And there was a small instance of biphobia in the definition of LGBTQ+ terms (highly disappointing).
