I liked this a lot. It reminded me of my favorite read of last year, Family Lore by Elizabeth Acevedo. I loved the speculative element and the way the stories intertwined. However, I REALLY need to start checking trigger warnings because HOO BOY there was a scene that caught me off guard.

Ursula K. LeGuin can do no wrong, IMO. I swear I highlighted half of this book. ā€œAn ambiguous uptopiaā€ really sums it up.

I was so hyped to read this after The Woman in the Library, but it didnā€™t work for me, unfortunately. A lot of the elements were really intriguing to me, but the story as a whole, combined with a lack of copy editing, just wasnā€™t it.
