It was enjoyable but a bit pulpy or cheesy at times. It suffers from the fact that every character has pretty much the same voice, and some of the writing is laughable at times. It's predictable quite often, the deaths happening around the protagonist are sudden and then forgotten. With it never really affecting his psyche.

Similarly, the inner mind of the ghost brigade soldiers is never really explored (so much potential there), instead they're just there to serve the protagonist.
