i know this book disappointed a lot of people (i don't know why, however) but this is now one of my favourite series. the first book was more light-hearted (in some ways), while this one. oh lord, this one. this one was heavy as shit. it had a much more dark atmosphere, and it went in. i absolutely adored every bit of it.

one part that kinda played over in my mind is when i read how the presidents and kings of countries might be able to negotiate hideo to make some things illegal using the neurolink, or even punishable by death. and i realized that if that were to happen in real life, and for it to happen where i live, being gay would be a crime, and i would die. and i had to sit for like five minutes thinking about that fact.

another thing- around the end, when hideo started crying when he talked to his brother, and all those paragraphs and talks about how you move on despite whatever happens, i was fortunately/unfortunately met face to face with a plushie in a store that i once bought to an ex girlfriend. and i realized at that time that i will always have a lot of memories of her, but i move on, and have new memories, and it's alright. we heal, and the pain, confusion, or whatever other emotion there is will cease into a less big of a deal.

and it won't be as painful. and i live on.

it was such an amazing journey, and im so happy i took the time to read it and engulf myself in this world.

I received an ARC of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A poetic chaos (using this word in the best way possible) showcasing the messiness of being in a pandemic and more otherly experiences. It was such a wonderful read.
Although, at some parts, I found myself a bit confused with certain things, which knocked off a star.
Poetry is both objective and subjective, depending on the topic. Some poems were written in such a way that i feel as if only the writer herself could identify the feeling - or it’s generally my lack of experience in that area in life? It could be either, and neither are bad things.
I am excited to see more of this author’s work, and I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for any new releases!
