Read this in my teen years. Picked it up again bc I wanted a fun little read and wasn’t disappointed. I loved Amanda (and the other characters). However some thoughts and the writing make it obvious that the book is from 2016. Though the plot is sweet it has way too much sex scenes for my taste.

The premise was awesome but I really didn’t like the implementation. The emotions of the characters couldn’t keep up with the fast pace of the plot. The writing was boring and I had a really hard time finishing the book.

I’d say the second book is even better than the first. This time the focus of the book is on Violets emotions and the Plot which makes it less predictable. There were quite a few plot twists I did not expect and surprised me. I loved the writing this time as well and can’t wait for the next.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 2%.
Don’t like audiobooks. I tried, but it’s hard for me to follow along.

One of the best books I’ve read in years. I love the world and the dragons. Even though it’s fantasy the word and concepts are explained well and in small bits. The characters are written wonderfully and admirably. You can’t help but fall in love with Violet (and Xaden - even though he disappointed me). The plot is pretty predictable (to some extend), but who doesn’t like a little bit of cliché.

Most of all I love Rebecca’s writing style which flows in a way that hasn’t let me stop once.

That being said  - as I’m reading other reviews - I was fully aware that the book has gone viral on booktok going into reading. If I had wanted a book to challenge me and give me something different then I wouldn’t have chosen a book from a community who loves cliché, predictably and spicy love.

the sibling part of the storyline gets very weird sometimes but other than that I enjoyed the book
