I just.. did not love this. If I hadn’t of been in a position where I needed something to listen to in order to pass the time, I would have DNF’d. it was cheesy. The connection between the mc’s felt forced and completely physical. I didnt like or care about either of them. Just overall a BIG miss for me.

My immediate thoughts are:
1. How the FUCK did this story & these characters manage to burrow into my heart so quickly? I’m so attached it’s concerning
2. Samkiel is the blueprint. I don’t want love if it’s not with him.
3. My Dianna. I would end worlds for you too. I simply love you and all your broken pieces so much. The grief and pain and suffering that you endured would’ve shattered most. It felt so visceral and real. New favorite FMC. Full stop
4. WTF WAS THAT ENDING IM SO SCARED FOR BOOK THREE

I literally love this series so much

WAIT WHAT WHY ?? wtf is going on. not another intense cliffhanger ugh I need answers! the way this book ended quite literally had me stunned. AFTER ALL OF THIS, THIS IS WHAT YOU’RE LEAVING ME WITH LUCINDA? I’M GONNA BE INSUFFERABLE UNTIL THE NEXT ONE WITHOUT ANSWERS. ugh. but I love it hehehe.

also, it’s official y’all. Theos is my favorite Darkhaven for now. Ruen baby you’re so god damn close, but I need you to loosen tf UP. Your brothers are grown men, let them get their rocks off babes and join innnnnn 🙂‍↕️ Kalix gets bonus points for the pierced d*ck & snake bondage fantasies but idk Theos’s golden eyes sound delish. truthfully, I’d be down to dedicate my body to their pleasure. that sharing they hinted at? yeah I volunteer. do with me what you will boys lmfao.

this book honestly started off so unhinged and hot, and I’m here for every god damn SECOND OF IT. Kalix and his fluids? I mean come the freak ONNNNN. we hadn’t even hit the 15% mark and Lucinda had me simultaneously questioning myself and begging for more. our little thief and liar, Kiera holds her own with these three, and I’m so in awe of her. I cannot wait until she’s finally able to unleash herself on the world. the moment that brimstone is taken out of her skin, the moment her contract is broken, I’m fully expecting for her to bring the gods and their twisted society tumbling to the ground, hopefully with the Darkhaven’s at her back !!! call it wishful thinking if you’d like. I prefer to think of it has manifestation. Kiera’s resilience and resolve have been tested over and over, and she continues to rise above. she deserves to cause a little mayhem in this next installment.

the gasp that I gusped when I realized that not only were we finally getting a Kratos book, but that the FMC was going to be none other than BIANACE SARTORE!? insane. I wasn't expecting this pairing, but I looooove it now that it's here. after she finds her way into a little trouble with the warring mafia and mob families, the only way to make sure that not only she, but her family, keeps the peace is to enter in a pesky arranged marriage with one of the Drakos family. how scandalous hehehe.

Kratos is the quiet and lethal monster that's lurked in the shadows for so long, and Bianca is like the silver lining in the darkness, allowing him a chance to finally come out and play. I seriously enjoyed their dynamic, with him allowing her a "safe space" to indulge in her own dark side. THE PRIMAL PLAY WAS NOT PLAYING. I was sweating lol!!! and the moments when they were vulnerable with each had me tearing up in this book. I appreciated the balance it provided to their more intense and rough physical connection. the softness only made me love them together more. Kratos is a grumpy teddy bear with a knife & he needs a hug. Love him. Bianca had him wrapped around her finger. Good for you girl, you deserve it.

I loved the Dante and Tempest cameos. Can’t wait to see what happens for my girl Taylor👀 she’s been a ride or d*e this whole series. Girl better get her own! Also I’m honestly still rooting for Carmy to have his own book !!! Please Jagger, just give it to me already lol.

I have so many mixed feelings ???

On the one hand, “yes, Alpha,” and scenting and knots!!! 🪢🥵🤭 love it. Here for it. Give me more pls. These two were cute and funny with all their wolfy nonsense. Fake dating to fake dating with benefits is always a fave for me

On the other, the conflict in the last 25%? Big fat nope. Noah went from a 7.5 hottie Alpha doctor to a man child who runs from his problems. Idk I know the intention was to “protect” and he reacted without thinking, but like… you’re a grown man who performs life saving surgery. You should be using your brain all the time my guy, not just most of the time ugh

Also Mack’s friend Parker was kind of a bad friend imo. She deserved better. Sis was a Queen & she carried this for me towards the end

This started off a little slow for me personally. With tensions running high after the cliffhanger of Breaking Hailey, I was expecting to see Carter hit the ground running, shooting first and asking questions later on his search to get her back. but idk I think first 35% was ooookay, the storyline with him working with her father just felt a little lackluster. Hailey’s storyline, a juxtaposing timeline to Carter’s, is what kept me pushing through. My heart felt for her. Her conflicts regarding the betrayal with Carter, or who she knew to be Nash, and her decisions afterward weighed on her heavily, while also trying to physically survive the situation she’s found herself in. Loved her so much more in this book.

But honestly, I’m reading this for CARTER MF BECKETT!!! he’s just so dreamy. how am I supposed to resist a handsome, overprotective, tattooed, crime boss that considers and respects your boundaries, anticipates your needs, and works to undo years of learned insecurities??? Ugh impossible. I love his patience. I love his obsession. I love his constant praise. also the jealousy moments with Hailey in the club were soooo real. get ur man & those b*tches in their place sis.

I think around the 60-85% the storyline finally had me HOOKED. these two working together to recover her memories and end this so they can live HEA? heck yes. their new dynamic, with Carter showing his true self, was even better. I love Carter’s crew, how they all stick together and get along with Hailey. and f both their dads tbh.

Overall a good ending to this duet imo, but took me a little bit to get on board ??? Idk maybe I’m wild but I still think Carter didn’t react how I thought he would lol. man should have been on a rampage from the get go.

I’ll be honest, this fell flat for me. I had high hopes for the conclusion of Sage, Kade and the rest of the Maidens. I felt like there was so much potential for this unit to overcome the hurt and trials that they’ve endured in Neviah, especially after the immense loss that occurred at the end of book 2, to triumph over both the Hands and the Demon King, to succeed in restoring Sage’s soul, to unite the people of this world under a peaceful leader. so much was going on, and I was ready for the threads to be neatly tied off. while I enjoyed the book, I just couldn’t help but feel that what could have been momentous and gut-wrenchingly emotional was lackluster and rushed.

Sage’s character development felt stagnant. I could see the attempt at her growth while watching her struggle to overcome the dark hole she was in for the beginning of this book. it felt real and visceral, a wonderful portrayal of PTSD and denial and all the torrid of hurt that comes with grieving, but instead of watching her fight that pull to the dark, it felt like she simply woke up one day and was ready to fight back. her romance with Kade feels like an after thought, even though he carried this book for me. the crumbs of soft Kade caring for her were why I kept reading hahahah. but even his character arch felt a little abrupt.

as a whole, it was such a soft ending to this trilogy. I liked the characters, but wished I could grown to love them!
