Loved so much of this book, but learning how cruel Lina was as a child??? It soured so much of this book for me.

Azeer contemplated suicide after an entire childhood of bullying. It felt so dark and I can't for the life of me understand how telling us the role Lina played in the in the last 25% was a good thought process.

I enjoyed their dynamic, it was very petty and silly. They maybe acted more immature than people would expect older mc's to act, but I honestly felt like it made it more realistic.
Azeer as a dad would burn down the world for his daughter and she thrives in that. It's such a healthy relationship they share and I loved getting to see those moments.

I read this for the Diverse Baseline Challenge in April!
I loved the cadence the author spoke in, I really enjoyed her poems, even when they made me sit and think for a chunk of time. It was a great piece of reflection.

Such a fun and informative read! I loved the illustrations and getting to know a little bit more about dating within Muslim culture. I learned a lot and loved that it's the authors actual love story!!

CNC was only evident between the love interests, honestly felt super dark with everyone else on the island.

Loved the dynamic between the three of them, but the rest of this book felt iiiicky. I know that's the point, but I hated it a little bit.

If book Colin has no haters, then I'm dead.
That man can kick rocks. I hope he falls *ss first on a cactus.
Loved Penelope's growth.
Hated that they she magically lost weight in time for her own love story.

This series for me has a clear cut winner - the tv show.

I enjoyed Nick and Annie, so so much!

Their banter, their (Nick's) awkward fumbling, the way they kept showing up for one another, it was all so good. I loved how they both grew in their confidence, not just within their own dynamic, but in their personal and work lives.
They're such a joy to see together and I can't wait to see if they make any cameos in the new series!
