I read this book because it was on a list of books to read if you love the movie Twister. I was so excited to read it but it turned out to be so different from what I was expecting. I am not someone who gets emotional very easily, but on multiple occasions, this book had me full on crying. The way this book was written, I felt a personal connection to so many of the folks talked about. The folks who lived through these tornados are so easily seen in your mind that and you experience their moments before the tornado hits that I was actually praying that they lived through it, and the devastation felt when some of them didn't, hit me like a ton of bricks. The first hand accounts from the meteorologists warning their towns of impending doom, made explaining such complex science and weather topics in a way that was digestible for the layman. It was beautifully written and went beyond my expectations.

I didn't expect to like this book but I ended up loving it. It gave me very Practical Magic (the movie) vibes. I loved the niece, aunt, cousin relationship. I couldn't put the book down, it was very comfy and funny! I kept wanting the book to be a movie so I could move even quicker through it but I also didn't want it to end!

I feel like this book really reeled me back into the Mercyverse. I was still reading, but the last few books haven't really pulled me in like I would have liked them to. I loved the time we are spending with Mercy and Adam and I really enjoyed the connections to the Alpha and Omega series last book. It felt like their was a stronger connection between the two than usual. The cast of characters are really a lot of fun.

This book was so weird but in the best way. I wouldn't have read it if it hadn't been recommended to me but I ended up really enjoying it. It is so dystopian and for how far fetched it is, it also felt incredibly real. It was a very interesting way of writing a book and was just a fun experience. The book goes from ridiculous to dark so quickly it will make your head spin. I recommend making a friend read it with you so you can digest the weirdness with someone
