This story focused on Nesta. In general, the author tends to be quite repetitive of certain phrases which I find quite jarring, however aside from this I can't really fault the book. The plot was really good and the underlying themes of battling mental health and being a very unconventional protagonist.

Also the tension and release of said tension occurs at an amazing pace as well- everything you read feels right and you really can't put the book down

A brilliant start to a series I've been wanting to read for the past few years now! The writing, although repetitive at times, is amazing and encourages you to keep reading. I would say the only reason I don't give it 5 stars is in the spoiler warning below

tamlin, the main love interest, is absolutely insufferable and has so many red flags. Its very hard to root for him and feyre when she seems to have more chemistry with lucien.

Aside from that this book is wonderful to read!

Absolutely amazing! Leaves you gripping your seats, eyes wide as you frantically turn the pages, desperate to continue. This book had me in tears, feeling happiness and sorrow and pity and everything in between. Amazing character development combined with superb world building and plot make this such a good read.

The plot was okay, a bit predictable but there's nothing wrong with that. The setting of the book and the world the author began to craft was very interesting, something I'd want to continue reading about for its lore.

Over all, though, this book had so much potential but was a really disappointing read. The author's writing style makes it very difficult to stay interested, the relationships are borderline abusive and yet they are romanticised and the plot, although had potential, was underwhelming.

While there's nothing wrong with having elements of stories that are predictable, for the most part the book followed all the standard, cliché tropes a fantasy book needs as if it was ticking items off a checklist. There was a lot of unnecessary repetition, way too much "telling" and not enough "showing".

At times it felt like whenever the author ran out of plot ideas she threw in a sex scene (which were also mediocre at best
aside from the hot public bath scene thay was definitely not for everyone but definitely good

About 3 chapters in I really wanted to DNC the book but only continued reading after convincing myself it would get better. It did get better in the final chapter, but then the book finished :/
