I managed to finish Act 1 but at what cost? Jokes aside, this book just wasn't for me. The part that I read was really boring and everytime I thought about picking it back up I just couldn't do it. So a dnf it is.

Absolute garbage!

The sexism in this was out of this world. In general there was A LOT of talk about gender roles and it was just off-putting. Every "plot" with the female characters revolves around sex, pregnancy and rape. Excuse me? I am really glad I read some reviews and dropped it because it actually gets worse because the main female protagonist
gets gang raped
later on. Absolutely disgusting.

Started off strong, but then the book kinda lost me. Sure, it wasn‘t anything new nor groundbreaking. It was still nice to check in with yourself though and served as a reminder. During autumn it became more superficial about clothes and it continued with the christmas decoration in winter. I homestly skimmed the last two seasons.

I tried really hard to like it, but I just can‘t be bothered. I had high hopes because I absolutely loved The Library, but it all fell flat. First of all, the characters are so one-dimensional and unlikeable. Secondly, the decision to add multiple POVs was strange to say the least. I didn‘t even care that much about Beth, so what makes the author think I care about her friend in London? It didn‘t fit at all. In the end I was just too bored and didn‘t care about anything that happend in the frist seven chapters.

Concerning the plot it was the weakest out of all four volumes. I didn’t mind it at first but in the end the situations became repetitive. We get constantly reminded that Mo Ran had a hard childhood and didn’t feel like anyone chose him. It’s ok being reminded once a book, but not every 5 chapters. Meatbun‘s writing was out of this world though.
