The Hundred Years' War on Palestine by Rashid Khalidi
3.0
I think I'll have to read it vs listen to it or listen to it a second time to grasp it all cause it was really hard for me to stay focused just with it being an audio book but I liked the writing style & I thought the author brought up some good points & portrayed them in an equitable manner.
The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang
3.0
I think the story was kinda interesting but I didn't really think any of the characters were very likeable
Heart of the Sun Warrior by Sue Lynn Tan
4.5
I think I had similar complaints about the last one being very long but it felt like there was a lot packed into the story so at first and at times I felt impatient especially with the back and forth of love interests but the ending of this book was just perfect. I was devastated & elated, it was bittersweet.
Writers & Lovers by Lily King
4.0
I couldn't decide of I liked this book or not at first but it did keep me pulled in after I got into it. The writing style was very stream of consciousness & there were a lot of times when it suddenly switches topics or feels like it addresses things that the reader doesn't know about. It was hard to keep a lot of the minor characters straight because there were so many. But overall the writing style I feel really put you in Casey's mind & the fast pace kinda pulled you through the book & I like the overarching themes of the story.
They Called Me a Lioness: A Palestinian Girl's Fight for Freedom by Dena Takruri, Ahed Tamimi
Did not finish book. Stopped at 39%.

I tried really hard to listen to this because I really wanted a Palestinian perspective but I dunno if it is the author or the narrator but the voice of the book feels very much like propaganda. I was looking for a more nuanced journalistic pov and I agree with the other reviews that said this feels more like the manifesto of a young/naive girl regurgitating beliefs that have been passed down to her.
The Other Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn
3.5
The first coupl chapter or so through me off cause I felt like Andrew's character was off from how he previously was but I think that was just Poppy's perception. Overall enjoyed it more that some of the others
The Unmaking of June Farrow by Adrienne Young
4.5
This started out kinda slow but once it picked up I could not put it down. It's had a little bit of everything
The Girl with the Make-Believe Husband by Julia Quinn
3.5
Probably my favorite Bridgerton book, I think it broke the mold as far as the Bridgerton books go but the sex scenes are still probably word for word the same. But I liked that this was less enemies to lovers & Edward & Cecilia were both very loveable characters. Their love story felt the most genuine so far.
Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano
2.5
I think this would make a better movie than a book, I enjoyed the story & the premise of what the book was tryin to do but I found it to be slow, the writing was dry & the characters weren't very likable & I feel like there wasn't much nuance.
Israel: A Simple Guide to the Most Misunderstood Country on Earth by Noa Tishby
4.0
More a persuasive essay than a simple guide but I enjoyed listening to Noa's point of view & her narration style was capturing & made it easy to stay tuned in. I support Israel based on the knowledge that I have of the situation prior to reading the book but was looking for a better understanding of the situation as a whole. This book did help a little bit but she does not offer her country much criticism so it's definitely not an unbiased point of view but I think she definitely brought up some strong point in support of Israel that I would not have thought of before.
