Lots of great information and a firm attitude that is realistic about what it's like to be a sign language interpreter in Canada or the U.S. I gave it four stars for all the typos -- this book costs about $100, so, good editing is what I expected.

Do you want to read a book in which every statement made by a character is responded to with "what?" and then the statement is repeated? Do you want the answer to the twin question  withheld from you for about 200 pages too many? Do you want each scene to drag like a muffler on a totaled car? Then this is the book for you.

Teeth-grindingly moralistic with a melodramatic character arc with one of the sisters who feels her time has come. I can't see a girl enjoying this, and as an adult I see all the reality that would get in the way of the family's happiness. I will say I got wrapped up in the Laurie-Jo plotline. Granted, I love lovers thwarted, so I'm biased.
