YA really, really isn't for me, but I don't give up on trying because I loved the Fat Angie trilogy so much, and there are some New Adult books that appeal to me a little more. I guess this book stopped me because I'm tired of the fashionista fat girl who encounters a cool "goth" girl and the fat girl just does not feel like a grown up and she does all these awkward things that are, like, OMG, so embarrassing. I would have loved this novel when I was a teen. I am not a teen, so I don't relate to it at all, nor do the "hard" situations seem as hard to me as an adult as they would have seemed when I was the main character's age.

There is nothing scary about this book. The author races through the scenes, not really showing us any gore or emotion. I couldn't remember which character was which, except teen girl worked in a movie theater and the other had a boyfriend. We're constantly told what has happened.
One of the big twists is that the original girl who died when a truck crashed into her house was actually projectiled out of the house and then lived in the woods and that's why the food has been disappearing??
