3.5 ⭐️ I didn't know this was a series! this isn't the first book, but it definitely works as a standalone if you're not looking to start it from the beginning with book one. the writing was upbeat and light and definitely a good book to get you out of a reading slump. The only thing I can't ever seem to enjoy is a cheating plot, cheating just doesn't do it for me. Yet, I loved the characters and everything else. I love the writing style, this author is definitely someone I'd read from again. Really quick and easy read which is perfect! I like something I can get through in one sitting, it's what I always gravitate towards. Could see myself going for more books by this author! Just wish the cheating trope didn't exist (just not for me, but if you enjoy it then I recommend this book!). I Wish Jade broke off her relationship sooner. Really loved River. Really think some people would enjoy it, especially the banter.

Thank you NetGalley for giving me an arc in exchange for an honest review.

When it comes to books, I get incredibly emotional and this book was no different for me. I sobbed, HARD.

This book was everything I needed in the moment and I loved the characters. Ugh, my heart.

The story just grows and adds so many layers and I absolutely enjoyed it. It's a really emotional page-turning book that hooked me from start to finish. I absolutely loved Rune and Poppy's relationship. I could picture everything in my head, which usually means it's one I will want to read over and over again.

One of my favorites of the year. 4.5 stars!

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC!

4.25 stars!

I hadn't read a brother's best friend plotted book in a while and I'm glad I got this one! I wasn't totally sure if I'd like it because I'm very much a picky mood reader, but I was honestly surprised that I LOVED it. The MMC was so kind and always cared for the FMC (she did NOT always deserve it honestly), but I just... my heart! I need more!!

I will say what really excited me was the small town trope, it is one of my favorites... but I was hooked by every other trope this book threw at me and I am not mad about it at all. This author is so talented and I can't wait to read more by them. So good. So SO good.

While I'm not a huge dark romance fan I appreciate Sophie Lark's stories and world building. I love retellings too and actually enjoyed this!
