Read this for the More Manga Please bookclub on Youtube.

I really enjoyed this. I have heard of this author before with Pluto and Monster.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting. I really like the friendship of the boys/men. I like the mysterious vibe from "friend". I also really enjoyed the art of the manga.

It did take me a minute to understand what was going on. I'm excited to read more.

DNF. It was an ok book but it was hard to stay in the world. Like the idea is amazing, the main character is ok. The way it's written makes it so easy to loose immersion.

I really did not enjoy this. I didn't care about the new characters. I finished it but I thought about DNFing this book at least 10 times.

This was for Ghibli-a-thon.

This book is a honest book about grief. This is definitely for people who want to read about characters more then about plot.

The only read issue I had was I felt like it was not long enough to get the full impact across that it tried.

Read this for ghibli-a-thon. I have seen this book cover a lot but never got around to reading it.

I think it's important. It handles a lot of tough issues such as domestic violence, immigration, cultural difference and identity issues from economic differences. It impacted so much emotional in just 200 pages.

It was okay. I wasn't wowed by it. I'm glad it was short. It was relatable but just wasn't special. I do like how she separated the poems up.

Since this was 3 volumes, I took the average of what I rated the 3 volumes.
Volume 1: 2
Volume 2: 4
Volume 3: 2
So 2.6 but rounded to 3.

Volume 1 is an okay start. I didn't hate it, but I could've finish or leave it kind of thing. I forgive it since pilots/first books are usually awkward.

Volume 2:I love the buggy arc. I think it's funny and the fight is rather interesting.

Volume 3: started off with conclusion of Buggy and was strong. However, rest of volume was very meh to me and weaker then the other 2 volumes.

I enjoyed this book so much. I love that Julia wasn't the sweetheart. She fusses and is a little unnecessary but this made her believable. Her family dynamic was also interesting to read about. It was also amazing to see how all the relatives reacted to grief.

average of the 3 volumes to rate this one.
Volume 4: 1
Volume 5: 2
Volume 6: 4

I found some parts of volume 4 and 5 okay but it was rather boring. Volume 6 got redeem right at the end when Zolo decides to cause a mess.

I liked this. It was simple. I thought the artwork was stunning. The story could've been deeper but it was a nice simple read for a one small volume thing.
