I feel complicated about this one. I loved it wholly and completely until about 80% through, and suddenly the author went down some weird ending-passageways that didn’t work for me. Like what do you mean she
murdered her husband
?? Not enough believability there for me. And I thought
burning the house down
was a bit too gore-y, it could’ve had a gentler end. What it finally landed on for an ending, I quite liked! Just take out a few of the last chapters maybe…

This was so interesting! All of the chapters exist sort of as their own entities, they’re chapters but like poems almost. Or like flash fiction. liked the way the writing flowed. By the end, I wanted more, but the end was still satisfying.

I loved this one, about as much as Legends and Lattes. Still very cozy fantasy, but with a bit of magical fighting involved, which I didn’t mind. The characters are all unique and crystal clear in my mind, as is the place. I wish I could go there, visit Thistleburr and Sea-song. I wonder if Maylee would make gluten free goodies too :)
