This book was amazing. I am still thinking about it, and I will for a long time after finishing it. There is so much to uncover, so many layers of meaning and commentary and story. Both characters are compelling and interesting while also having deplorable characteristics. The play with form is so interesting, unlike anything I’ve ever read. The writing quality is out of this world. What Noor Naga chooses to detail is so beautifully executed, and what she doesn’t hangs in an unknown-space, that you step into willingly because it’s all a part of the experience.

As much as I loved some of the characters and the magic, I just came out of this book thinking: so what does that all mean? I feel like I was left out of the loop, I wasn’t told enough about the important parts, so I didn’t care about them, and the less important parts just got thrown by the wayside towards the end. I wanted it all to come together but it didn’t.
