I guess this was Lana’s take on Beat poetry in the 21st century, but without the critique of economics and more focused on the culture aspect. It was interesting to listen to it on audiobook, with all the additional sound effects, especially with her last piece in the book - the cacophony from the multiple voices in the background really adds to the theme of the piece.

The themes are definitely reminiscent of those in her lyrics, and you can certainly pick out the Sylvia Plath influence too.
