I wanted to read more from Sri Lankan authors AND read more books outside my comfort zone, so I picked this up knowing it was heavy on the introspection (is that a word?). The 2/3 of this book flew by, and I absolutely loved it. The secondary characters were so great I didn't even think of how it's all in the main character's head. However, in the last third, the main character is by themselves and the pace slowed down too much for me, and I sadly lost interest.

This book is A LOT. It was so interesting to listen to a clearly well-researched collection of data, and the the language, in my opinion, was accessible. It's quite repetitive in parts, and while that's understandable as many of the topics he highlight naturally cross over, but in the end I felt too overwhelmed (probably the purpose of it) and I struggled to keep track of the audiobook the last two hours. I might revisit this again, and take it even slower than I did, so I can take time to fully grasp everything

I gathered from the previous three books that the burn would be slow, but my god... I think the previous was more sizzling, this has more of a middle-book syndrome to it. I still enjoyed Persephone's character development!

Funny concept. I think the book was just a little too long so, for me, it got a bit old. But then, I don't think this is supposed to be consumes in one sitting either
