Rapide et efficace, ce short story est un coup de coeur assuré. On s'attache rapidement au personnage, ça se lit d'une traite et c'est extrêmement touchant. À lire.

a new TJR historical fiction? i was sold from the start. solid characters, solid story, i loved it front to back.
carrie, what a complex and strong woman. loved her insight, her introspection, her rawness, her honesty. she didn't compromise and i was here for it. i really identified with a lot of what she was going through and i really loved seeing her grow throughout the book.
i won't lie, i held back tears a few times and i did not expect that at all. very moving story.

With the end of the trolls battle and the confrontation with a god hand, we were certainly not in for an uneventful start in this volume.
As always, captivating action, great dialogues and breathtaking artwork.
And what can I say about the fight with Grunbeld? How hard it was to see Guts struggling that much but how exhilarating to finally discover the berserker armor. Not only does the armor bring a welcome power up to step up to the apostles, but it also brings so many metaphors and conflicts around Guts and his allies, further deepening the story. How strong will the armor make Guts? How much will it help him in his quest? But also, how dangerous is it to unleash this beast dwelling in our hero? How far will it take him? Will it end up further hurting him and his allies?
We saw our little group’s dynamic is blossoming on the sea side, Farnese evolving so much she is now looking to learn from Schierke, Guts and Schierke bonding, Guts praising her and her being an anchor to bring him back when the beast takes over, so many relations and gains from one to another developing.
Berserk never ceases to amaze me as a story, it is always evolving and always finds a way to surprise us by taking a detour or adding a conflict we weren’t expecting. I can’t wait to keep reading and falling further into this tale.

I will start off by getting one thing out of the way: anyone who said this book was funny lied to you. Jennette sure is witty and has a certain humorous tone at times, but saying this book is funny is wrong.
Before, during and after this read, I’ve felt a lot of admiration for Jennette. She’s telling her story without compromise, with a raw honesty and unapologetically. This book is touching, shocking, a true wake up call to the industry.
As much as I appreciated the details of her past history, I think there could have been a little space to reveal more of Jennette’s present reflections and her learnings in therapy. I also think it would have benefited a better editor, but besides, it was a great read.

I decided to read OPM after watching season one of the anime (and absolutely loving it) and hearing that season two wasn't as gorgeous, so I'd enjoy what comes next on paper before seeing it on screen.

Rereading the season one content, it's amazing seeing how close and true to the manga the anime is. Some frames are identical, they nailed it.

The drawings are gorgeous, the story is great, I love the characters, it's engaging and it's so funny I love the concept and the witty jokes.

What keeps me from giving 5 stars to it is for now I'm not having any surprises as I've seen the anime and I feel like there could be a clearer sense of purpose in the story to engage me a little more but that's just because I'm hard to please, this is a great read.

I had to take a little step back from this book after putting it down before I could rate and review it. I think I went in with too high expectations.

This read was definitely good and interesting. I liked Moshfegh’s writing style and all the insight in the Mc’s mind. For me, I just think the lack of sense of purpose prevented me from really getting invested. I liked the originality and the weirdness of the book and of the narrator and the themes it tackled, it’s what saved the book for me because otherwise, as it is slow paced and doesn’t have a sense of purpose or a clear direction, I wouldn’t have enjoyed it at all.

Maybe I’ve missed the whole point of it.
