Did not finish book. Stopped at 80%.
It was a very slow pace, and I really struggled to find the motivation to read this book. I felt the author could have done more, i couldn't really connect with the characters and the story felt like a drag.

I absolutely adored this book, it really spoke to me personally. I could really connect and feel with genesis on a different level. I, as a black woman, also struggle with my appearance and seeing someone struggle and overcome that was very endearing.

I'd rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. I really couldn't find a reason to like any of the characters, the main character is flat and has no personality. There's a love triangle, square? I honestly don't know. I couldn't really feel any of the romance between the characters, at all and the love triangle just made it worse for me.

This book constantly felt like nothing was happening.

And honestly, if it wasn't for all the hype for the big plot twist. I probably would have stopped reading, (I ended up skimming through the last 100ish pages).

Overall, I liked the plot of the last half of the book. And I might pick up the next book.

if I see the word smirk, one more time...
