I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston

the romance in this book was lacking. i did not see how or why chloe and shara liked each other, at all.

RW&RB was mediocre for me, One Last Stop was good, but now I'm realizing that I read Casey McQuiston books not for the romances, but rather for all other reasons (like plot). I don't like politics, so obviously I didn't like RW&RB's plot. But Once Last Stop had sci-fi and mystery that captivated me more than the romance. As for this one, the mystery, the clues, and the game were super interesting. Even so, this was lacking. I think I would've been more interested if this book just went in a different direction than it had gone.

idk. the first half and last quarter of this book was okay, the middle i disliked.

This book mentions John Green, and yea when your book premise is a clone of Paper Towns, I get it. But i gotta say, i do like the execution of this one better.

also, everyone in this book is gay. like everyone. okay maybe like 90%.

worst one of this trilogy, but i still loved it. i think this one was just less romantic and more boring than the others.

this book was a blend of multiple POVs, consisting of Evangeline, Apollo, and Jacks with mostly Evangeline chapters and less of Jacks chapters. I think this book would've been more dreamy with more of Jacks perspective, especially since the first two books had him be around all the time and we never got anything from his perspective.

also, do i think the stuff about Jacks' True Love was retconned? yea, but i think it was done okay.

i really loved the idea of the story curse, and that epilogue was great.

this one was the best out of the entire series, caraval series included. specifically the second half was the best.

yea i wanted to fight jacks for most of this book, and miss garber took me on a rollercoaster of emotions, but that's what made it so good.

definitely will be rereading :)

i liked this better than the first time reading it and it's most likely because of the fact that i've now read the caraval series. it mades this one to gush over and that's all i need for a 5 star rating.

finally finished this again after 3 months. i wanted to understand Nesta more before I read her book. I still don't love her, but rereading makes me indifferent towards her, which in this case is better than hate.

i've also always sympathetic towards Tamlin, since I've always thought that he did bad things because he was in a bad situation. and i still agree.

i also used to be indifferent about Lucien, but i do like him now.

regardless, i still love Feyre and Rhys above all.

i rushed through this book because it was:

1) better than Legendary since Scarlett and Julian were back in it
2) had more interesting lore
3) i wanted to get to Once Upon a Broken Heart

this was better than Legendary, but not better than Caraval

if i liked Tella, I would've loved this book like i loved Caraval

however, i do love everybody else. literally. everyone else in this book, except for the main character is top tier.

this book took way too long to finish. it's not that this book is hard to read or hard to get through, i just didn't want to read Tella's story. but i'm now very excited for Finale and the OUABH series :)
