More a fundamental text than a primer, Belly of the Beast is nonetheless a quick introduction to fatphobia and anti-fatness, which I understood to be different in much the way that prejudice and racism are. It provides a framework for a new society. I learned A LOT and I wholly recommend.

It was a little too unstructured for me. I wish there was more history of the public library - that bit was interesting. But otherwise I didn’t really care about reading about work burnout right now, especially since it’s happening to all of us.

The beginning and the end were the best bits. It was oddly fatphobic. I was most excited about the communist dwarves but it was a letdown.
