Okay, I might have hated the boys in the first book, but with their POVs in this sequel, I don't hate them anymore. I mean, I wish they did certain things differently, but I understand why they were the bullies in the first one. Also, damn, they're all hot πŸ”₯.

The boys: I can now say Darius is slowly warming into my heart with his lil quotes in between. Caleb is my second favorite heir. He's so cute and funny and makes Tory laugh. I don't really have an opinion about Max yet, and Seth is still a bit on the negative side for me. However, Lance Orion is my favorite of all. He just takes my breath away.  Love you, Lance 😍.

I love the twins. I am now even warming up to Darcy. However, Tory is still my favorite. I love how badass they are and never back down from anything.

I am so scared as to what will happen next. It's the reckoning, guys. I hope the heirs don't screw it up for the twins. 🀞🏽

Here are my reasons why you should continue to read this series:

β™‘ You like the slowest of burns (which is still spicy) πŸ₯΅.
β™‘ You like the battle for the throne.
β™‘ You like morally gray hot characters πŸ”₯.
β™‘ You like elemental magic πŸ”₯πŸ’¨πŸ’§πŸŒ±.
β™‘ You like celestial heirs & magical royalty.

I am so damn glad that I didn't have to wait for 2 years to read this book. I found my way through Maasverse since last year, and  it has become my Roman Empire. I had such high hopes with this, especially because of the ending of HOSAB, and I wouldn't say this is my favorite Maas book, but it did not disappoint.

One thing I absolutely loved about HOFAS is the pacing and high energy through the book. It never got boring. It was very easy to flip through the pages. I just could not put the book down, unlike the first 2 books, wherein I had to go through some percentage of the book to get hooked into. I mean, reading multiple POVs in the same chapter was a bit overwhelming at times, but I am okay with it (only for SJM).

I've heard some people say that Bryce is juvenile. I mean, yes, she can be childish sometimes, but I still believe she's a badass. I found certain characters much more irksome than her. IYKYK. My favorite part of the book still continues to be Ruhn. I was so excited to read about him.

I am not sharing any spoilers, but I'd say that certain situations just blew my mind. Well, what else did I expect from SJM? I was super excited when some of my theories came true, and it was the best feeling.

Now I know what was missing from the previous book. I wish books 3&4 were combined. This particular book didn't have much, but I liked it ONLY because of the ending. That ending was a real slap in the face. I've now come to expect it from this series as all the endings are too good, but this one?? It was so unexpected and exactly how I wanted it to be for certain parts and just shocking for another certain thing. I'm sorry, I'm trying not to spoil it here. I am just so glad I didn't have to wait for the next book. That would have been torture.

I LOVE Tory even more now. That's it. She's a badass through and through. This book had a lot of ups and downs, and I wish it had more clarity in writing, but I usually never talk about the writing style. It's all about the vibes for me, and that had quite a few downs, too, except for the last 100 pages or so. That stole the game.

Here are my reasons why you should continue to read this series:

β™‘ You like shadow world.
β™‘ You like mates chosen by stars.
β™‘ You like slap-in-the-face ending.
β™‘ You like unexpected twists.

I'm  not exactly sure what, but I feel this book just missed a lil something. The trials were good. The twins were amazing in their revenge, but I wish it had one more element in it.

That being said, I still liked this book a lot. The twins are getting stronger, the heirs are being challenged amazingly, and the spice is on point but not overwhelming. We can start seeing the dynamics being changed/challenged soon enough. I'm hoping for something drastic in the next book in terms of relationships.

PS: Lance Orion is taking over my heart. He's funny, cute, hot, clever, and he gives me all the emotions I can hope for. πŸ₯΅

Here are my reasons why you should continue to read this series:

β™‘ You like spicy books.
β™‘ You like forbidden romance.
β™‘ You like to read about revenge.
β™‘ You like magical trials.
β™‘ You like powerful elemental magic.

I was mildly surprised that I loved this book and picked up the second immediately. Maybe I fell in love with the fast-paced and unpredictable plot. I was so damn enraged by the bullies but also so attracted to them?? I know, it's weird. The world building was so intricate and unique. It gave me Fate saga vibes from Netflix but a bit on the darker side.
I feel the hype is totally justified, and Orion is hot πŸ”₯ πŸ₯΅.

Here are my reasons why you should read this:

β™‘ You like multiple POVs.
β™‘ You like Fae/Changelings.
β™‘ You like parallel human & magical worlds.
β™‘ You like elemental magic with shifter powers.
β™‘ You like reading about bully celestial heirs.

OMG!!! I did not expect to love Hudson even more. The tension between Grace and Hudson was *chefs kiss*.

This book was everything I wanted. It is so far my favorite book in the series, and I'm so excited to see Grace's growth in the fourth book. It had amazing new characters and those twists?? I loved it,

Hudson has my heart. He's dreamy, cheesy, stunning, and just perfect for Grace. Anyone who can bear the initial book and the awkward writing style in Crave, you will not regret it. I love how the story is evolving and it is addicting. Even though it has so many magical creatures, it is portrayed so well that it doesn't overwhelm you. Just read it, okay?

Here are my reasons why you should read this:

β™‘ You like love triangles.
β™‘ You like slow burn, sexual tension.
β™‘ You like enemies to lovers.
β™‘ You like "I would burn the world down for you" vibes.
β™‘ You like reading about mates.
β™‘ You like amazing banter between the MCs.
β™‘ You like court politics.
β™‘ You like intriguing magical communities, including giants and dragons.

To be honest,  I've had mixed feelings about this one. I get the hype but I'm not sure I liked it as much. I get that Cardan is the morally gray MC and that people fell for him but I guess he's just not the book BF for me. I may finish the series at a later time. Maybe an audiobook would be easier. πŸ€”
This is one of those books where faerie are scary. Not my favorite kind but immature, dreadful, cruel brings who play with mortal for fun. I didn't see the twists coming in this and actually I think that's the only reason I infact read it. Love the ending and I'm hoping the story will get better in the next book.

Here are my reasons why you should read this:

β™‘ You like morally gray characters.
β™‘ You like enemies to attraction.
β™‘ You like twists and turns in the story.
β™‘ You like a strong FMC in making.

AMAZING. That's it. There's no other way to describe it.

This book delivered all that was lacking for me in the first one. Hudson, I love you 😍.  He is the first and foremost reason Crush crushed it for me. πŸ˜…

It didn't feel like the giggly teenage drama from the first book (even thougI loved that, too). Also, not that it didn't have its own giggling moments. It was just presented so much better. We explored more about the magical community, the different creatures, and did I say, Hudson?? Yep, him 🀌🏽. I wasn't a big fan of Jaxon, and when Hudson arrived with his swaggering bad boy vibes, I was floored. Yeah, I'm definitely Team Hudson 🫢🏽. I loved the banter between him and Grace. Their frenemiship was too good.

I felt the magic aspect was also unique and different.  At least to me. The other magical beings were all so cool, and the found family trope was executed so well. πŸ₯Ή I'm just loving the turn this story is taking right now, and I can't wait to read more.

Here are my reasons why you should read this:

β™‘ You like different magical races together. πŸ‰πŸ§›β€β™‚οΈπŸͺ„
β™‘ You like love triangles. πŸ’œ
β™‘ You like found family trope. πŸ₯Ή
β™‘ You like exploring FMC's power. 🫢🏽
β™‘ You liked fated mates. 🀌🏽
β™‘ You like Hudson (trust me, you will). 😍😘

Okay, I really thought I could do with the second book here but it disappointed so much. I'm sorry, this was not for me. I still finished it, though, as I kept hoping it'll get better. Anyway, here are my reasons why you should read it:

β™‘  You like love triangles
β™‘ You like messy and confused teen FMC who's trying to figure stuff out

I'm really sorry, I can't think of anything else here. πŸ˜”

Dark romance is not for me. Now, all those who love who your dark romances, please don't come at me. πŸ˜¬πŸ™ˆ

I really don't know how to even start writing about this book. I feel I'm incapable of understanding the genre and don't want to offend anyone who loves it. So, I'll just leave it at that.

But one thing is for sure, the smut was πŸ”₯. There is no doubt about that.
