The Story of the Lost Child by Elena Ferrante
5.0
“Unlike stories, real life, when it has passed, inclines toward obscurity, not clarity.”
I don’t think there’s a review that could do this series justice. Magnificent!
I loved every bit of every page. I didn't want it to end. And it won't. I will be rereading this series one day soon.

The Story of a New Name by Elena Ferrante

Ferrante's writing continues to captivate me entirely. There are times I read a sentence/paragraph, and I have to put the book down to absorb the beautiful tapestry of her words - her exquisite writing.
The lives of Lila and Lenú continue to fascinate me. This book encompasses LIFE!
I am so eager for book three!!! ❤️

And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer by Fredrik Backman

This is a story about memories and about letting go. It's a love letter and a slow farewell between a man and his grandson, and between a dad and his boy.
This beautiful story will make us think about the perfect goodbyes we never got a chance to give to our loved ones. It will make us think about life: living, loving, and aging.
Alzheimer's/ Dementia is heartbreaking: It's an awful thing to miss someone who's still here.
I miss you, Mama!! There isn't a goodbye perfect enough for you.

Perfect for the reading slump I was in: fast paced, to the point, sexy, and funny enough. I enjoyed it!
Spencer is hilarious! Cocky bastard, but likeable enough. 😊

I have to digest this book before I find words relevant enough to do it justice.
The Wife by Alafair Burke
5.0
I couldn't decide what thriller to read, so I had my friend’s mom choose for us: she decided The Wife. Then I read Jennifer M’s excellent review and agreed to lock it down!!!
Alafair Burke didn't waste any time with getting me hooked. She jumps right in. It is high paced and with the perfect amount of suspense. My mind was in puzzle pieces. I was looking at this from every angle.
I appreciated the mix of first and third person POV. Burke knew what she was doing: she made us build these emotional connections and then...POW!!!
Now the ending? I was at a lost for words: WHAT? SHIT! SHIT! WTF??? Those were the only words that managed to escape my mouth.
Ohhh! I especially appreciate the awareness she brings by addressing various social issues that continue to plague us. Thank you, Alafair Burke!
Now y'all need to read this book!
