🤍Second in a series
Alana and Alejandro’s story continues with the addition of Lucy. There are secret identities, kidnappings, spice, assassination attempts, etc. I did not see the ending twist coming but I felt like overall it was minor compared to some of the other elements we saw in book one and two. I also felt like there were a lot of repetitive elements in book two. I enjoyed reading more about Alana and Alejandro and like the addition of Lucy and the new dynamic they found but it felt a bit forced compared to book one. I still enjoyed it, the spice was very present 😉, and the story continues well. It wraps up Alana and Alejandro’s story and sets up Lucy’s story well.

Alana is sold to Alejandro under the assumption that she is helping her father stay out of jail. Alejandro wants nothing to do with love or a relationship and sees his marriage as nothing more than a business deal. As the two live together and learn more about each other they find themselves uncovering more than they bargained for.
I enjoyed Alana and Alejandro. Their relationship felt very superficial at first since it was based purely on lust and their assumptions of each other and not facts. As their story progressed I enjoyed the way their relationship changed and evolved. Seeing Alana prove Alejandro wrong over and over again was the best. The spice was 🥵. I hated how poorly Alejandro treated Alana at first but I think some of that was based on his initial assumptions of Alana.

After an assassination attempt, Riona is in need of 24/7 protection. Raylan was a family friend that offers his protection services for Riona. When there are more attempts on Riona’s life Raylan takes Riona the only place he knows is safe… somewhere he’s been avoiding for his own reasons for three years…
Riona and Raylan were amazing together. I loved them both individually and as a couple. Both were strong characters on their own and only added depth to each other when they got together. The chemistry and tension in this book was amazing. The plot twist was one I did not see coming, I always love when an author can write without it being obvious. The plot, buildup, spice, and characters were all spot on. The barn scene and outdoor water scene will live rent free in my head! Definitely recommend!
