Book #55 of 2021.

This is the final novel of the Harry Potter series.  The book was so satisfying!  I found myself replaying pivotal scenes from the movie in my mind and I was not disappointed.

I feel the need for more Potter….

This story was beautiful. Jayber Crow walks us through his long life. That’s the best explanation - it reads like a very good memoir.   I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Book #52 of 2021.

This is the follow-up to My Soul to Keep.

Jessica has revealed David’s secret to her sister and parents. She has decided how she would proceed with her new life, sans David. She has plans to share her gift with any child that she can help.

Unbeknownst to her, her secret isn’t as hidden as she thinks and she finds that there are serious - dire circumstances that she must deal with.

The conclusion of this book was very satisfying. I am seriously looking forward to the remainder of the series!

Book #51 of 2021.

Jessica meets David when he teaches one of her college classes. She soon finds herself deeply in love with a professor. They marry and have a baby. Then, people that she loves start to die mysteriously. Then David reveals his deep, dark secret and his plans for their future.  Can she maintain her family and her love for him?

I really enjoyed this novel!  NOTHING about the story felt formulaic. Ms, Due is becoming one of my favorite authors!

Book #50 of 2021.

This compilation is an homage to Alvin Schwartz’s Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, which I adored when i was a kid.

I fell that the stories were all solid and I’d definitely recommend for anyone that like spooky stories but isn’t quite ready for Stephen King. ☺️

I think my fave is the one with the girls that take on a dare to spend the night in a haunted house. 👻

Book #48 of 2021.

It’s is the follow-up to Minion.

Damali has come to understand who she is and what she is meant to do.  What will she do with this knowledge and her powers?  Will she do what she’s been trained for?  How will she decide?  And who should she trust?  Damali’s heart is split and she has to decide who she really is.

This too was a great read. I’m looking forward to seeing what else the author creates!

I’ve gotten QUITE behind on logging my books I’ve read this year. I’ll be playing catch up over the next couple of days.

Book # 45 of 2021.

This book was so engaging - I was hooked from Chapter 1!  This is the story of twin sisters who were inseparable until one decide to cross the color line and leave her past (and her family) behind.

Their separate worlds collide and the aftermath is beyond expectation.

Book #46 of 2021.

I promised myself that I would read all of the Harry Potter novels. I love the movies and had seen each several times, but I’d only ever read the first novel.

I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the novels!  While the movies are stellar and became instant classics, I must admit that I am partial to the novels.

The penultimate novel was everything that I hoped it would be. I was able to fully immerse myself in the story, with no loss of anticipation. The writing (and narration) were beautiful and lived up to all my expectations!
