Liv’s family owns a matchmaking business called Lunar Love. It’s been a staple of the community for 50 years and utilizes the Chinese Zodiac as a way to find compatible pairings. Liv is finally getting her chance to take over. Unfortunately a new app, ZodiaCupid is utilizing the Chinese Zodiac as well and Liv is afraid this could be the end of Lunar Love. Liv infiltrates the app and tries to match with the founder, Bennett. She wants to get as much information out of him and tank the app before its initial release.
The only problem? Liv actually begins to like Bennett… but not like THAT, their Chinese Zodiacs are totally incompatible! Bennett continues to show up and wow her though, and when they kiss she forgets all her worries. But Liv has been with an incompatible match before and it wrecked her. Better to avoid that.
Definitely recommend this one if you’re looking for a cute and fun read! I wish we got more of Bennett and Liv in this book but it was fun to learn more about the Chinese Zodiac!
I enjoyed seeing the origins of some of the scythes (especially Curie). Some of the stories were not my cup of tea but overall I enjoyed coming back to this world.
It was great to get a glimpse into the new worlds as well! I don’t think this adds a ton to the story though unless you are dying to know more!

Antonia “Toni” Bennett lives and breathes music. Ever since she was young she was surrounded by music. She has an ear for music and has a passion for producing. On top of that, she can play the guitar and sing like no one else. Although Toni doesn’t want the fame that comes with performing.
When someone from her childhood who she thought she’d never see again pops back into her life, she is unsure what she’ll do next. When Toni signs a contract to fill in for an all girl band, she begins to question what she wants. It doesn’t help that Sebastian “Seb” is there for the ride as well.

Liv Latimer and Ransom Joel were costars, and love interests, in one of the biggest teen TV series to date. They were best friends and Liv always wanted more, but Ransom just saw her as a friend. They haven’t talked much since the show ended, as Ransom believed it best that they take a step back. After her father passed and her best friend abandoned her, Liv retreated from the spotlight and when she did act, she took smaller indie film roles. Ransom on the other hand took the opposite approach— starring in major blockbuster movies and becoming THE leading action man.
When the cast get together for a twenty year reunion episode the two pick up right where they left off. This time, Liv senses Ransom returns her feelings, but she can’t risk being hurt again. Further, there is even more drama on set than the last time— with both her female co stars wanting the spotlight. With the possibility of a reboot, Liv begins to question if returning her past is really what she needs to become happy…
The one issue I had with this book is it centered on the miscommunication trope— the two have been in love with each other since they were teens, but didn’t think the other felt the same.
I could not stop reading this one and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!
Two women, one birthday. On Alix Summers’ 45th birthday, she crosses paths with Josie Fair who is also turning 45 that day. They exchange a few words and that’s it. A few days later Josie shows up outside of Alix’s kids school. Josie mentions she has heard Alix’s podcast and thinks she’d be a great subject for a new podcast as she’s on the brink of a great life change.
Alix is hesitant at first and gives Josie a brush off, but after some persuading she agrees. As Alix learns more about Josie, she feels unsettled, but she pushes forward nonetheless— certain there is a great story underneath. Suddenly Josie has infiltrated Alix’s life, even giving advice about Alix’s husband. When Josie disappears and Alix finds herself in the center of what has become a true crime podcast— with her and her families lives at stake.
I went into this knowing nothing other than it was a top choice thriller in 2023 and was highly rated. I bought a copy for my cousin for Christmas and when it came damaged, I kept the damaged copy and got sent a new one.
Just as I thought the worse possible thing could be unveiled, BAM something new would be just around the corner. The ending leaves you reeling with questions— who can you believe?
Also I love how throughout the book there’s snippets of the story in a Netflix style true crime documentary. It made it feel all the more real.
This book really immerses you in the deaf community and gives you three very real perspectives.
Charlie is deaf and has a cochlear implant that never really worked— her doctor’s recommended she not learn sign language and go to public school. Charlie is struggling in her classes and to communicate with those around her.
Austin who has grown up fully immersed in the deaf community— going to a deaf boarding school, having a deaf mom, and a dad who is an ASL translator. Austin struggles with the fact that his baby sister is born hearing, giving his father something he never could.
February, who’s hearing, grew up a child of deaf adults (CODA) and is the headmistress of a deaf school that is under threat of closing. As well as the struggles of a mother with dementia and her marriage on the brink of collapse.
This book was absolutely fascinating to read. I definitely recommend reading a physical copy for this one as there are pages with pictures on how to sign certain words.
The one issue I had with this book is there was such a build up to the end and then it just kind of ended. I just found it to be very abrupt and the resolution was not really fleshed out.

Wells Whitaker was once at the top of the golf world, hitting the scene and taking it by force. But lately, he’s been struggling— heck he has one remaining fan. So, when Wells quits mid tournament and demoralizes his one remaining fan everything should have been over for him.
Josephine Doyle lives, loves, and breathes golf. Any time her favorite golfer, Wells Whitaker, was playing nearby she was there cheering him on every step of the way. That is, until he rips her sign and tells her to go home.
When a hurricane hits Josephine’s golf pro-shop, which the insurance has lapsed on so she could afford the rising cost of her insulin, she believes her life is over. Then, Wells Whitaker shows up to check on her and she can’t believe her eyes. Wells gives her an offer she can’t refuse: caddy for him, help him turn his game back around, and split the prize money.
At their first tournament, Wells’ game starts turning around. As Josephine breathes new life into Wells’ game, and he learns more about her, he can’t help but realize she may be the one for him…
Gosh I loved this one so much! I am NOT a golf fan, but I was immediately drawn in when reading this book.

I tried to get into this, but at 10% this man has called her a human cupcake (whatever that means), called her on the phone and did a horrible apology, and stalked her to the point she pepper sprayed him?
I just really do not care to continue and I am not a fan of the writing style either
I don’t know if I like Jacob or Zafir more at this point 😭
Eve Brown has bounced around from job to job ever since her dream of becoming a singer didn’t work out. When her parents decide they have had enough, they cut off her trust fund payments until she can hold a job for a year. Eve ends up going for a drive and ends up at a B&B that just so happens to be looking for a new chef. Unfortunately the owner, Jacob Wayne, is not a fan of Eve’s on first meeting.
When Jacob realizes Eve may be his only hope, he goes after her in the rain, only to be ran over by her car. Eve stays on to help after breaking his arm and giving him a concussion. Eve seems to find her calling as the head chef at this B&B. The two slowly begin to become friends and realize they completely mis-categorized the other.
This was all so chaotic but I loved every minute of it. Jacob is a gem!
Eve Brown’s guide to finding a man: 1. Randomly crash his job interviews 2. Accidentally run him over with your car 3. Take over his b&b and spare bedroom 4. Become friends
This was a really intriguing read about someone’s experience in a multi-level-marketing business.
I’ve always found MLM’s to be weird— I have to ask my friends to buy things from me? Hard no. It was interesting to see how people get talked into these businesses and how cult-like some of these MLM’s can be.
The author talks about how at one point her eyes were opened to how MLMs hurt those lower down the line, but it still took her years to fully leave. She also details her struggle with alcoholism and how drinking seemed to be at the center of MLM events.
I listened to this on audio and it was read by the author— I felt like I was listening to a friend tell me a story! I definitely recommend the audio book if you’re looking for something informational and intriguing!
