SPOILER ALERT!!!!

My mind is totally BLOWN. The plot was incredible, I loved the world Aveyard has created and Mare is an extraordinarily strong and awesome protagonist. I am so ready for the second installment - which is due to be released on my birthday!

Maven's betrayal was something I am ashamed to admit that I did NOT see coming. In hindsight I now realise that the entire book was riddled with hints and yet I missed them but I'm sort of glad that I did, because I love when a book shocks me.

HOLY FRIGGIN CRAPOLA.

THIS-BOOK-THOUGH!

I cannot get over how the entire book was a mysterious unsolved puzzle, and by the end all the pieces finally fit together making TOTAL SENSE. I don't think it's necessary to mention I loved it but... I FUCKING LOVED IT.

One of the best reading experiences EVER. Now stand-by for SPOILERS!

SPOILER ALERT:

The Guillermo and Dianna Sweetwine affair BLEW ME AWAY. I was like NO WAY but then it hit me that it had to be. This made so much sense. Like how Jude felt so comfortable upon obliviously meeting her mother's illicit lover and how Noah felt compelled to delete all of his sister's bookmarks of the Guillermo websites. UNBELIEVABLE. Jandy Nelson is pure genius and I honestly can't believe I didn't pick this up sooner.

I also loved the twin dynamic between Noah and Jude as they had so much in common yet so many stark differences - it honestly boggled me. The overwhelming guilt and the secrets and lies of both protagonists are what gave this book genuine depth.

LOVED the romances...particularly Oscar and Jude -- which was complemented by the fact that Oscar appeared on both of the dual timelines which was AWESOME.

In short, if anyone else shares the feels please say so- I don't want to be alone in irrevocably nerding out over this "supernaturally awesome" (as Noah would so wisely say) novel!
