I wish I could say I enjoyed this more. I don't know if I didn't enjoy it as much as her past two poetry books or if I've just outgrown this kind of poetry. I really am unsure. There were some poems I really enjoyed, especially those longer few. But as a whole... this was not for me.
There were things I enjoyed about the book but overall I did not super enjoy reading this book. The characters felt dull and I was not all that interested.
This really humanizes the argument for abortion and is very informative about the laws surrounding it in the United States. Everyone's story was unique. They had a different background, religion, and emotions throughout the process. I simply cannot recommend this book more. I learned something new each chapter. It really is a must read.
If you love Sally Rooney, you're going to enjoy this book. It is very relatable and the characters feel like people you know in real life. You can feel their pain, their happiness, their hopes and wishes! It's not a book you're gonna sob over but there are such tender moments I had small hot tears falling down my face. A wonderful read I simply have to recommend, especially for my fellow women in their late twenties and early thirties.
