Cinq Semaines en Ballon by Jules Verne
1.0
Trigger warning: racism!!!!!!!
I Love Jules Verne: he’s one of my favorite authors. I can see why this book would give him fame in the 1800s , in a world that was so racist it thought African people need saving from themselves because they were nothing but animals in human form. The racism and severe use of the N word left a horrible after taste in my mouth. And it just sad because if you look past all the racism (which sadly you cannot) but if it were all removed somehow, we would’ve all enjoyed this book.
