My first Ashley Poston and definitely not my last. I have The Dead Romantics ready to read and knowing she has another coming out gets me excited.
This was the sort of book I needed that was romcom and easy light hearted read I needed after some heavy books. The little romance with the touch of magic was amazingly written. It didn’t make me cringe or feel uncomfortable and I was constantly routing for all the characters.
My partner is an ex Michelin-chef so reading all about the restaurant side was easy and comfortable, as well as letting me see what he had to go through a little more and the pompousness that comes with some chefs. But it also made me feel more empathetic towards Iwan (James) and what he wanted to achieve and the way he got lost getting there.
I always say I’m a touch of magic sort of Fantasy reader, and al though this isn’t fantasy, it’s the touch of magic I love!!

Too dense and not another to grip me. Feels like I’ve been reading it for weeks! I may come back to it in the future but for now, it’s a no.
