The book was fast-paced and a fun read. It's actually book 7 in the Harry Hole series. The case in this novel was a standalone but it referenced characters from previous novels a lot and I sometimes felt that I was missing something. I'm debating whether to read the rest of the series or move on to another author.

At the beginning, he reminded me a lot of Joel Stein from Time magazine. I found myself enjoying his essays that were about songs I loved from the 80's. He wrote about Haysi Fantayzee and their song "Shiny Shiny" referencing other new wave pop groups that I hadn't heard. It made me wonder, was I really a true 80's fan? He lost me on some of his longer essays when he delved deep into his early high school years, but it was a fun read.
