i wish theyd both been eaten by the giant clam in book one but at least the idiot man died in this one. I do not like either of them. There is nothin eve remotely romantic about their relationship (except they banged against a wall, closed door btw) and she was sad when he took an arrow for her. Not fond of this serie at all.
I enjoyed the memes & music talk last book. There's none except the mention "halo" at the very end.
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated
3.5
Not bad. Weird creatures, odd adventure, sort of slow burn, Def not a romance tho. Literally zero spice (or even kissing) Ends on a cliffhanger. A quick read, an interesting idea, I did like the traveling and squirrel dude.
This was a buddy read and I waffled the entire time between liking and hating the two main characters.
This probably isn't a spoiler, but hey, let's mark it like one anyway since it talks about how the characters change during the story. (I refuse to say character development)
at first I adored Elena, strong, unflappable, smart lady that she is, and was annoyed with the buffoon who got such marvelous advice as "I say, have fun with the girl. Hell, make her cry, get her to quit, whatever you want." who then proceeded to announce (frequently) how much he would like to break her, corrupt her, destroy her, and f*ck with her. Also, this quote from his point of view: "I knew with the right training and a patient master, she would be glorious." And immediately after that he talks for half a page about how he will force her to be his. Big no from me 🚩🚩
Then around the halfway mark Elena had turned into a simp who could only think about being with HIM and actively goes about destroying the life shes been working for and building since age 11..... And he suddenly was a poet who desires nothing more than her to be safe and loved and healed from her past.
In conclusion, they're both idiots and may they be happy in book two which I will not read 👍🏻

900 year old vampire and 20 year old virgin cellist who gave up her life for him. What could go wrong? They're both sassy, horny, and funny - and OH BY THE WAY he's the phantom of the opera. there's basically no spice. I enjoyed it and rolled my eyes a lot. Scottish Werewolves make scotch, btw.
I have 201 annotations and nearly all of them are "ick" or "no". This has so many plot holes and so many weird ways to describe things and so many unnecessary commas. Not for me, will not continue the series, did not like a thing about this (but I did read every single word 🫠) suicide by shark is new
