The book I was most looking forward to of Ali's and it unfortunately didn't hit like I thought it would. The writing was fine. The story felt basic, some characters did pop out and I did like Misery, but it took me a while to finish because it just didn't hold my attention plot wise or relationship wise. Also this is not omegaverse and the weakest knotting I've ever read so there's that.

This book started out so good. I was loving the characters and the writing was solid enough. Then it sharply spiraled downward around the 40-60 percent. I'm a little baffled because I was very intrigued by the heroine. She was soft hearted, kind and sensitive. The type of character I love. She also had a bit of that common fiery attitude heroines have but it was used more reservedly than I'm used to and she seemed smart with her temper. Not quick to make dumb choices. I was tentatively excited. The relationship was developing at a good pace and the setting was interesting. I liked that she was a healer and not competing. The initial interest he showed to her felt bluntly done for the circumstances but not unforgivably bad.
Then there were several instances where he did romantically messed up things and the heroine was hurt by it, but she later let him touch her with no qualms. He kissed other girls. The day after sleeping with her for the first time he humiliated her in front of the other girls. He let the girls he was dating shoot arrows into her body and after she was willing to beg him to fuck her. It wasn't even because he was trying to create distance after sex it was to help the girls that were competing for him.
Even when there was a jealousy misunderstanding with another man she quickly assuaged the kings jealousy not even letting him feel a little taste of his own medicine because she is forced to watch him with all these other girls. It was annoying.
To be clear I love assholes/bastards/villains, love bullying romances, love toxic relationships but not ones where the guy comes off sleazy like this. The sex was typical.

The world building was interesting. I liked the history/legends. An easy read. I enjoyed the beginning more than the middle, but the end brought it back. Candra and Nemeth's relationship was good, wasn't too quick. Interesting dynamic with the tower. Side characters could have been more fleshed out. Solid book.

Oh I loved this. A couple crumbs of plot but what was there really interested me. Loved the revelations. Enemy x heroine no matter how brief will always hit! Really glad I read this before Sailor Moon as it really sets it up.

Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Monster of the week isn't usually my thing but it's just so cute I can't help but love it. Kinda wish there was something like this for all the sailors! Loved seeing what it would become especially the cameos! Mina is such a a fun heroine. Absolutely insane with the love interests tho so watch out for that
