Role Playing delivered what it promised. A fun, sweet romance with geeky, older characters who you'll fall in love with.
In addition to this, I was pleased to find that one of the MCs was mixed-race (representation counts!) and even though both MCs are around fifty years old, they are still gamers. There's a silly belief that as you age, you should let go of games, and all things fantastical and that's rubbish. Maggie and Aiden are perfect examples of how different people with completely different responsibilities and personalities can still find comfort and joy in games.
Maggie is the perfect depiction of grumpy, but not miserable or whiny like many other "grumpy" characters. Aiden is perfect and deserves everything good in the world.
It's a quick and easy read and Yardley's voice is light and funny.

I haven't read historical romance in ages, but my agent recommended this one and I am blown away. I'm in love and I'm almost sad that I wasn't the one to write this. 10/10 for characters, action, tension, smut, and CONFLICT. I adored all of it. Please accept this terribly written review. Perhaps in a few days I'll come back with more coherent thoughts.
