Sad that I've finished the series now but really loved it. I just adore Riordan's writing style. Although some of the humour would be considered immature, it worked so well on the books. I think it was well balanced with great wit. He really brings these myths to life in such an interesting way. With intertwining them in to the modern world in a clever manner, really made it enjoyable to read.

The story itself for the last book was well layed out and kept me interested throughout. Added bonus that I now have more knowledge about Norse mythology than when I started.

He's a great writer for all ages.

One of my favourite authors when I was a kid. Now 30 and I still love his books. Nice easy read but such an enjoyable story. A great way to learn about some myths and legends. I really like Magnus Chase as a main character, he's the type of hero I love. Not perfect but someone we can actually relate to (maybe not the the Norse mythology side of things though..)

A great series for all ages.

I really enjoyed this book. King really is a master at descriptions and world building. I often felt like I was there with Jack on his adventures. It was a great mix of fantasy/horror and I loved all of the characters. The "bad guys" were well written and exactly what I wanted from villains.

The only reason I didn't give the full 5 stars is because the book had very rare instances of seeming to go on a bit in terms of getting to the end of the main protagonists goal.

I plan on getting the sequel to see where Jack ended up so wanting to continue is always a good sign!
