AHHHHHH I read this book in one sitting and OHHHH MY GOODNESS
The prose has me weeping. It’s so beautiful. Why can’t I write like that.
Sapphic love story told through letters between two agents on opposing sides of a war fought among different timelines? Hell fuckin yeah.

The book was promising, but it fell short for me; I attribute that to how fast paced the book was (I mean, this book has demons sacrificing souls and aliens running from a galactic collapse, yet the most unrealistic part of the book was how quickly the plot developed). The vast amount of characters made it hard for me to truly get engulfed in the book as it didn’t spend a lot of time on the exposition and backstory of each character and plot line. While that might be someone else’s cup of tea, it isn’t mine.
I will say, I appreciate how the book doesn’t shy away from the grotesque reality of some of the topics it touches upon.

WOW! This book was AMAZING! It’s the type of book where you’re itching to continue reading, but you don’t want to finish it because then it’ll be over. We had the pleasure of speaking with the author, Matt Bell, in my writing class, and it was a great experience!
The way he weaves the storylines and parallel myths into each other had me SCREAMING and borderline throwing the book because of how crazy it was. It really makes you appreciate how stories can be told.
Everyone needs to read this book.

I’m not usually in the mood for cheesy rom-com books, but when I am, I reach for Ali Hazelwood. She writes exactly what I’m looking for. I am in love with Jack Smith-Turner; he is EXACTLY my type (attractive 30-something year old physicist with lots of cool physics tattoos). Elsie is 100% a protagonist I can project onto (chronic people-pleasing physicist) which is what I unapologetically do anytime I read a romance book. I loved the science puns and the diverse cast of characters and the fact that this book was about a theoretical physicist.
