These Witches Don't Burn by Isabel Sterling
3.0
3.5 out of 4 stars! ⭐️
The plot of this book just kept turning, it was so good. The characters and the storyline was so thrilling!
I would say that the book is more directed to age 13/14 than older teens/adults which I wasn’t expecting but I didn’t look into before buying.
Very much looking forward to reading the sequel though!

So bloody amazing!!! It’s funny, interesting, thoughtful and sort of sad at the same time.
I love the new perspective that these poems give all these women and the whole concept of this anthology.
Defo recommend!

Women & Power: A Manifesto by Mary Beard

Forever trying to find books that live up to this.
So informative and thought-invoking, I will be thinking about this book for years.
Women & Power was personal and emotive whilst also being so powerful and informative with getting the point across. Mary Beard delivered this essay so beautifully. I will definitely be reading others books by her!

I wish I read this book at 16 because god I needed it.
It’s still relevant to me now and I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was so warming to read.
The author has a way of knowing exactly what you need to hear and speaking to the heart of the reader.
So bloody good.
I would recommend everyone give this to a teenage girl in their family. They defo need to read this book.

I Would Leave Me If I Could: A Collection of Poetry by Halsey

A beautiful collection of heartbreaking, powerful, sad & beautiful. This was such a great book and I so enjoyed reading into Halsey’s mind. I am a fan of her music so I knew I would be a fan of their poetry. Halsey’s songs read so beautifully so their poetry is just as mesmerising. I love her.
I would recommend checking trigger warnings before reading.
Halsey’s pronouns are she/they :)
