I enjoyed this retelling of Hades and Persephone a lot; the romance didn't feel forced and I really liked how the Gods were described; they too have flaws.

Overall I felt like the entirety of the plot was rushed. I felt the romance portion of this novel was really out of nowhere seemingly and very forced

I knew going into the novel that it was going to turn dark; but I was able to figure out pretty quickly who the "villain" was; and I felt that the characters did not change as much as I thought they should have given the situations they found themselves in. It is very dark and not the worst I've read but not a top for me unfortunately.

At first I was confused by the pacing; but I quickly realized with the perspective it was written in; it all made sense.
with the novel mostly in the perspective of a 7 year old boy specifically.
it was a coming of age story in the most interesting way.
