This wasn’t what I was expecting but it definitely exceeded my expectations. I thought oh let’s try a historical fiction book about a pandemic as why not when we are living in a pandemic lol? I didn’t realise the main 2 characters would fall in love with each other but both but it made story for me. Julia and Bridie were everything

Skim read the last 50% of the book I just really didn’t enjoy it unfortunately it just didn’t fit with me my romance type is more of a typical chick lit I think

The premise of this book was fantastic as soon as I read the description I knew I wanted to read this. I really enjoyed the first few chapters it was good character building and really got me invested in the book.

Unfortunately I felt once the work began on Isa it seemed rushed after that. I think more building up could of been done and more explanation into why also.

The cover is extremely striking and I think wanting more of a book is actually a good thing.

So I’m a biomedical science undergrad student and learned so much about HeLa cells in a scientific manner but Henrietta Lacks I had never heard of her which is just ridiculous really! I read this in 2 sittings in 1 day. A must read for all an interesting science story but devastating personal one.

I really want to love this! The characters in the book I just couldn’t care for they were just there and I wanted to at least gravitate towards a character. Every thing made sense and the premise was amazing but I just wasn’t pulled in by the writing at all and I feel the back and forward in time doesn’t appeal to me at all. It was generally just an OK book and didn’t blow me away.
Rounded up from 2.75 to 3 stars.

Wow Wow Wow such an important message! This so hard hitting especially with the way it’s wrote. Writing it in verse the message comes across loud, clear and to the point. I can’t comment on how it would feel if I lost someone to gang violence but I imagine the way Will’s thoughts are in this would be how I would feel too.

This is a must read for everyone
