I was really excited for this sequel as I thoroughly enjoyed reading ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐.
Molly is one of the quirkiest characters I have ever read and that is what endeared me so much to her the first time.
Once again Molly finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation when world renowned author J.D. Grimthorpe is murdered at The Regency Grand Hotel, only this time she has a connection to the victim.
Just like the first book, I really enjoyed following along with Molly as she finds herself stuck in peculiar situations as she tries to help solve the mystery. I also really enjoyed getting more of her backstory through flash back chapters.
I sadly wasnโt as captivated with this book as I was itโs predecessor. I just found the scenarios to be a bit too far fetched and found I was skimming over the chapters quickly.
I still got the cozy mystery vibes and thought it was a fun story and would definitely pick up another book with Molly the Maid again!!
Thank you Netgalley and Penguin Random House Canada for an eARC for an honest review.
I had been very much looking forward to Beauโs story and let me say, Elsie did not disappoint!
I fell in love with Beau Eaton. He is every bit the brooding military vet who has the softest romantic side.
The banter between Beau and Bailey was so good, she kept him on his toes and had some quick comebacks that had me laughing out loud!
And their chemistry was off the charts. Their slow burn tension made those spicy scenes worth the wait, and they were spicy!!! ๐ฅ๐ถ๏ธ
One of the things I loved most about this series was how much the Eaton family was involved, and this one was lacking that. I would have loved a bit more of the family, especially patriarch, and my fave, Harry!
This was such a great series that will have a home on my forever shelf! I highly suggest picking it up.
I look forward to what Elsie writes next, there were some hints to a new series coming!
This was one of my most anticipated reads after reading the masterpiece that was ๐๐ค๐ช๐ง๐ฉ๐ ๐๐๐ฃ๐ earlier this year. And it did ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ต disappoint.
And listen, Iโm sure youโre probably sick of seeing posts about this one, but Iโm posting anyways because I need to scream from the rooftops how good this book is!!
What can I say that hasnโt already been said?!
Clocking in at 623 pages, itโs a slow burn, but thereโs still so much information and action mixed in that it never feels like itโs dragging. We meet some new characters, some I loved and some I absolutely ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, Like Dolores Umbridge level loathing.
The spicy scenes were ๐๐๐๐๐ and the tension leading up to them were chefs kiss. Oh Xaden, how I love thee! If I couldnโt possibly love him more, this book really makes you fall in love with him.
And my beloved dragons, Tairn, Andarna and even Sgaeyl. I love them so much and their sassiness. I was laughing so hard at some of their interactions.
Rebecca has created this amazing world and characters. Her writing is so vivid I felt like I was immersed in every scene. And for a non fantasy reader she makes it very easy to keep up with the book and terms.
I LOVED this book and I LOVE this series and I cannot wait for book 3 to come out. (@rebeccayarros please donโt make us wait too long ๐๐ป๐ค๐ป๐คฃ).
You are missing out if you havenโt read these books yet but just be prepared for the book hangover it may give you when you finish, lol!!
I thoroughly enjoyed ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ก ๐๐ฃ ๐๐๐จ ๐๐๐๐๐ค๐ฌ last year when I read it.
So I was thrilled to continue along with Nora as she becomes the only female student at a prestigious medical school in Bologna,Italy.
We follow along as she navigates a world where women were not expected to be more than a housewife. How she fights to make a name for herself to try become what she is most passionate about, a surgeon.
The medical procedures were fascinating and itโs so mind blowing to think how medicine has evolved over the years. How procedures that are so common these days were once an anamoly centuries ago.
I just adored being back with these characters and truly hope this is not the last time we get to spend time with them.
Once again the writing just flowed so beautifully and was so perfectly descriptive that you felt like you were right there. And Nora is such a strong, beautiful character.
I highly recommend picking this one up if youโre a fan of historical fiction, womanโs rights and medicine.
Please be forewarned that there are quite graphic descriptions of medical procedures many related to births and cesarean sections.
I have really enjoyed reading this series and was excited when I heard book three would be about a character we only had glimpses of in the first two, baseball star Kai Rhodes.
Kai is a single dad and starting pitcher for Chicagoโs MLB team. He doesnโt trust anyone raising his son, and fires his nannies after only a few weeks.
Enter Miller Montgomery, the coaches daughter and last person Kai would want watching his kid.
The chemistry between Kai and Miller was evident from their first meet cute and doesnโt let up. Miller is fun and feisty and the complete opposite of Kai, but they bring the best out in each other.
I adored Kaiโs son Max, and loved the way everyone on the team supported them both. He absolutely stole the show in this book!
It seems the single dad, nanny trope is becoming a hot favourite of mine this year and this one definitely doesnโt disappoint.
And as always, I love getting glimpses of our favourite couples from the previous books and just love the friendships these characters create!
If you love a good sports romance and hot single dads, then this is the story for you!!
And bonus, we get a little spoiler for the next book in the final pages and I cannot wait for ๐๐ก๐๐ฎ ๐ผ๐ก๐ค๐ฃ๐ to come out next to read Isaiah and Kennedyโs story!
