Not the first monster romance I've read, but the dialogue and the FMC here just weren't for me.

Definitely a great read. This gives me the vibes of Knives Out meets I, Robot. A mystery unfolds throughout the book and the twists just keep coming. I felt the ending was going to be cliché, but I was proven wrong. The question about AI and its potential dangers is a cliché that is brought up, but I liked how it was used here. A great ending to the mystery that leaves you questions.

This was an absolute banger of a book! Ryland Grace's journey is one that you will latch onto as you progress through the book. From the opening lines to the end of the book I was hooked. Andy Weir has a knack for making the complicated science of space easy to digest. That was crucial in this book, especially as the story progresses. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can see why it has obtained the accolades that it has.

The Kaiju Preservation Society was a quick funny read. It takes a humorous look at how humans would interact with kaiju in the kaiju's own environment. The interactions with the big monstersare funny, but the banter between the characters is where this book shines.

The final book in the Original Mistborn trilogy did not disappoint. The way that Brandon Sanderson puts all of the puzzle pieces in place is fantastic. Questions I had, even in the final pages of the book were answered. You see how far Vin and Elend have come since we met them in book 1. What stood out to me with this series was how the prophecy was handled. I can see why Brandon Sanderson is high up on fantasy readers lists. Books 2 and 3 could have taken this series in a completely different direction which I probably wouldn't have liked. But, in Brandon's hands, we have a banger of a conclusion. I'm looking forward to the Stormlight Archives now.
