Beautiful. Anne Carson is amazing, and so is Sappho!

Beautifully written, clearly very carefully researched, compelling characters. Almost cried at more than one part. So glad I sprang for the hardcover, because I'm keeping this one!

The greatest ever. Re-read an embarrassing amount of times. Food for your soul.

Hard to give this one a rating - it's very dry and technical material about very specific subject matter. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone without some rough background knowledge on the topic, but it's well written and very interesting!

A beautiful and interesting story, partially a call to action, partially deep character studies, partially a botany lesson. I would give it 5 stars but I thought it dropped off right towards the end, and I also felt that the Brinkman storyline didn't add too much. Otherwise, a lovely, heart-wrenching read.
