This reads to me like an action movie. One of the good ones that has cool fight scenes, great atmosphere but also a very strong plot. i love the many different kinds of vampires. And how the author used colonialism in the story was clever. Domingo’s heart left me in awe so many times. sadly it is common to see a kind person being criticised and perceived as naive, and people called Domingo that in the book, but Domingo proved so many times that he knew what could happen, but he still chooses to be kind and hopeful. The end left me a bit disappointed cause I felt that it needed a stronger ending, but it might be a personal preference. Still loved the ride!

Love the atmosphere. Really enjoyed the characters and the story was really good too. But sometimes somethings that the characters said didn’t make sense to me, although it didn’t affect the story. The ending was a bit..meh. I don’t think there was an explanation for it to end the way it did..maybe a few more pages were need to explain why it ended like this. Still a pretty cool book.

Loved this! Loved the drama! How dramatic our main character was while being naïve, but not in a way that made her insufferable. She was this way because she was protected by her father and because she was spoiled but also because she was a woman at this time. how everything evolved, the atmosphere around it.. *chefs kiss*

Is this a completely original story? Nope. But does Tahereh Mafi know how to write? Very well! There were some action scenes and some dialogues that got me very excited. Plus I am a fan of the main characters. Wasn’t a fan of the end, tho. But this was so easy to read. I really hope the sequel is out soon 🤞

So after reading this book one would think that apparently all the men are pervs and can’t see a woman without thinking of cheating on his wife with that new woman..nope, this left a bad taste in my mouth. The mystery itself was cool, but not good overall imo. And the reasons why the women were being killed also didn’t convince me.

Spent the time listening to this actually afraid of the ending because I was enjoying it so much I didn’t want the ending to be disappointing. And it wasn’t! Maybe it is not for everyone, but i didn’t even imagined it would end like this but loved it!

The first 2 books were five stars, but I think I loved this even more than the first one. How Coco and Agott are two sides of the same coins is done so well. And Coco is just an amazing inspirational character
